Himalayan Lavender & Ingredient Traceability
"Direct from Farmers" sounds great. But can you actually trace it back?

Our new season stock of Lavender buds is here. 1 tonne, from Doda (Jammu & Kashmir, India). And this is only our first tranche for 2026.
Frankly, managing this volume with a small team of 2 people feels a little daunting. Because when the bags arrive at our warehouse, our work is only beginning.
Each bag is cleaned, sorted and graded. Simultaneously, we document where every bag has come from- The farmer. The village. The block. The quality and grade of the produce.

And this is not just superficial information. We know each of our farmers personally, where their farms are, the conditions in which the Lavender grows, and the journey the material has taken before it reaches us.
We are building The Purple Himalayas from the ground up, with individual farmers forming the foundation of our supply chain.

Therefore, ‘TRACEABILITY’ isn't a mere buzzword for us. It is an inherent part, or rather the basis of our business model.
Yes, documenting and sorting everything takes longer. Sometimes, when you're standing in the middle of a warehouse full of bags with a small team, you do wonder why you chose the harder way.
But this is what we choose consciously everyday.
Not buying material from an aggregator and simply putting it in another bag. But going to the ground. Meeting farmers. Building those relationships one by one. And slowly creating a supply chain where the individual farmer is not lost along the way.
Especially when the ingredient is eventually going into something people consume, where it comes from matters.
For F&B brands, ingredient stories are becoming just as important as the final product. Knowing where an ingredient comes from, who grew it and what makes it unique can become a meaningful part of what they offer to customers.
If you're an F&B brand, beverage company, tea brand, or any business looking for high-quality Himalayan Lavender- and you care about knowing the story and source behind your ingredients- write to me at thepurplehimalayas@gmail.com
For us, the story doesn't begin when Lavender reaches our warehouse. It begins much before that, in the farms and villages, with the people who grow it.
And we believe that story deserves to travel with the ingredient.
